Federación Argentina de Cardiología (FAC)

Presentation of the Organisation
FAC (Argentine Federation of Cardiology) is a scientific association founded in 1965. It consists of 37 federated associations, 11 delegations and 22 sub-specialized committees, which develop their activities throughout the country for the purposes of homogenizing health quality standards in the field of cardiology at a national level. Through Fundación Cardio, founded in 1991, the FAC informs the public at large about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases through different activities, workshops, races, campaigns, television shows, etc.
FAC has the principal mission to improve public health by promoting cardiovascular prevention. Moreover, it promotes training activities in the field of cardiology throughout the country. FAC achieves its objectives thanks to the effort of the numerous members who, leaving personal interests aside and with a great service vocation, work for the institution.

Luis Guzmán, MD: President FAC; editor in chief Argentine Federation of Cardiology Journal; Phd from Córdoba School of Medicine, Argentina; Cardiology Specialist Degree, given by Córdoba School of Medicine; Intensive Care Specialist Degree, given by Córdoba Medical Council, Argentina; Cardiology Professor Post-Graduate Department Córdoba School of Medicine; Fellow American College of Cardiology; Member American Heart Association, Council in Epidemiology and Prevention - Head Cardiology Department Córdoba Hospital. He has participated as PI or Country Coordinator in more than 80 clinical trials and has published articles in national and international journals.
Héctor Luciardi, MD: Vice President FAC; associated editor in chief  of Argentine Federation of Cardiology Journal; Former Secretary of the Training Secretariat of FAC. Doctor in medicine from Faculty of Medical Sciences of National University of Tucumán (UNT) Argentina. Currently works as Instructor Professor of Pathology and Clinical Medicine of the 3rd. University Chair Faculty of Medical Sciences of National University of Tucumán (UNT). Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and “Miembro Numerario” of the Spanish Society of Cardiology. He has published and contributed to a large number of articles in national and international journals.
Juan Carlos Linares Casas, MD: Former President FAC; former President of the Administration Council of the Fundación Cardio; Doctor in Medicine, degree given by Faculty of Medical Sciences of National University of Rosario (Argentina). He has Hemodynamics Specialty from Argentine College of Hemodynamic and Cardiology Specialty from Medical Colleges of Santa Fe and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Currently Scientific Coordinator and Clinical Cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of Rosario (ICR) (Argentina) and Consultation Physician for the Hemodynamics service at Spanish Hospital of Rosario (Argentina). Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC). He has taken part in many national and international publications.
